Reorganizing an existing book content is provided via drag'n'drop method. It is possible to drag'n'drop topics and chapters to new destination and this way change the book structure.
Note
There are two different chapters types in the Helptrix Author. First-level chapters are chapters, which are direct children of the book. Sub-chapters are chapters, which are not direct children of the book, their parent is another chapter.
It is possible:
- drag'n'drop topic on topic - dragged topic will be inserted before target topic as sibling.
- drag'n'drop topic on chapter - dragged topic will be inserted in target chapter as last child.
- drag'n'drop sub-chapter on topic - dragged sub-chapter will be inserted before target topic as sibling.
- drag'n'drop sub-chapter on sub-chapter - dragged sub-chapter will be inserted before target sub-chapter as sibling.
- drag'n'drop sub-chapter on first-level chapter - dragged sub-chapter will be inserted in target first level chapter as last child.
- drag'n'drop first-level chapter on first-level chapter - dragged first-level chapter will be inserted before target first-level chapter as sibling.
It is impossible:
- drag'n'drop anything on the book.
- drag'n'drop first-level chapter on sub-chapter or topic.
Follow this steps:
- Click and hold down left mouse button on the topic/chapter you want to drag.
- Still holding left mouse button down, move mouse cursor to the target topic/chapter. Mouse cursor changes and as you move the cursor over the topics/chapters, they are highlighted if it is possible to drop dragged node on them (see figure above).
- If mouse cursor is on target topic/chapter and target is highlighted, left mouse button.
Now, topic/chapter has been dragged and dropped successfully.
