3.4.4. Export Project

Intention of three tools in Export / Import submenu is to provide possibility of collaborative work on translation of the book. System works like that:

  1. Use tool Export Project from Helptrix Author. It means that project will be prepared for translation, then locked (made read-only) and finally packed into the ZIP archive. Project will be read-only because it is essential to preserve, that no change will be made to the project during its copies are out for translation. All languages that are supposed to be translated, should be added to project before export!
  2. Send (e.g. via e-mail) copy of your project packed in ZIP to each translator that should translate one language (using Helptrix Translator). As soon as translations are done, they will send you back translated versions of your project.
  3. For each language use tool Import Language from AdminTool. This tool imports only selected language into your project, so this way is possible to unite all translated versions back to your project. Note, that it is possible to import languages only while project is locked.
  4. When all translated languages are imported, use tool Unlock Project to make project once again editable.

Note

Remember, that during export, project was given unique key and it is possible to import languages only from exported project with the same key. For example, it is not possible to export project, send copies for translation, unlock project, and when translated copies are back export project once again to import languages, because unique key of two exports are different!

To export project, select Export Project from the Tools -> Export / Import submenu.
